Parent Meeting Summary
Our back to Scouting meeting was held on 05 September detailing all the changes for the year and we began organizing the troop for the new joint troop pilot program. Meeting minutes are available here for anyone who was unable to attend.

Below is a quick summary on our upcoming events.
- 23 -25 May – Beach Weekend, Cape Henlopen, – 15099 Cape Henlopen Drive, Lewes, DE 19958. Additional details will be posted soon.
- 20 – 22 June – Pioneering weekend. Additional details will be posted soon.
- 06 – 12 July Summer Camp This year the troop is attending T. Brady Saunders Scout Reservation in Maiden, VA. It is sure to be a great time!
- The second payment of $180 is due May 8th.
- Merit Badge Choices have been selected. Camp Choices are here.
- If your child is a first year scout or it is their first time attending camp, there is a first year program that is recommended.
- Medical forms for Summer camp need to be turned in by June 12th to Gerrit Shuffstall. We need 2 PRINTED COPIES of the medical forms. You will need all three forms for summer camp; A, B, and C. The C portion requires a doctor to fill it out and sign. We are aware there are extenuating circumstances so please just keep Gerrit aware of your timeline for submitting. Scoutbook Signups
When signing up for an event, the big yellow button in the middle of the page signs up the logged in user only. This has resulted in many parents registering themselves to go camping instead of their scout. To fix this expand the ‘My Youth Connections’ drop down and RSVP your scout accordingly.
Troop Requirement
If you will be camping overnight with the troop, you MUST have a background check via Scouts BSA. This is easily accomplished by registering to become a ‘Scout Reserve’. Note: Merit Badge Counselor is no longer acceptable. The required position code is 91. The Troop will reimburse all fees.
Payment Updates
All scout parents, please confirm your registration on my.scouting.org. Most of our troops renew in December and Parents are now required to register their scouts annually through that portal.
For 1729 we just discovered the dues owed to the troop only show if you select troop 729 when looking at your scout in Scoutbook. Please check your scouts 729 scout account there is an extensive balance. A screenshot is below for reference.
